Hey there,

Welcome to another edition of The Digital Entrepreneur Newsletter.

Last week, we started to set our sights on 2018. With only 10 days left in the calendar year, there’s no reason to look anywhere else but forward. So, we’re going to continue with the “New Year’s” theme.

This week’s podcast is all about putting yourself in a position to succeed with your online marketing efforts next year.

Online marketing continues to evolve at a fervent pace; with so many innovations and trends emerging it can be hard to know what matters.

What new marketing innovations will define 2018?

To help guide you, Katy Katz and Sean Jackson review the topics, trends, and ideas that will shape your online marketing efforts in 2018.

Now here are this week’s five resources to help you create, sell, and grow.

1. If 2018 is all about your startup, avoid these assumptions at all costs.

Assumptions happen, and in business, it’s a problem. Assumptions in a business plan are simply a series of untested hypothesis. No business plan survives first contact with customers, and it’s up to the startups to pivot or change their model based on results.

2. What’s in store for Facebook Ads in 2018?

Moving forward, Facebook is only going to play a bigger role in a marketer’s mobile strategy. Some things to keep in mind in the new year will be Facebook’s diminishing ad load, Messenger Ads, and much more.

3. Is your SEO ready for January?

Keeping up with Google’s algorithms is a hefty task. If you haven’t tended to your technical SEO in a while, there’s no time like the present to double-check your site health and conduct an SEO audit. This checklist will run you through all the technical SEO fundamentals you need in place in the year ahead.

4. Reach that next milestone.

Your online business should never remain static. It should learn how to adapt and innovate along with the times. Take these suggestions and pieces of advice and stay a step above the competition so you can maximize your earnings potential.

5. Become more productive. You can do it!

You shouldn’t try to squeeze yourself into somebody else’s system. Instead, you need to take bits and pieces of tactics learned from multiple sources, put them together, and create your own unique system.

How to Find Your Own Path to Creative Productivity

I hope you find these resources to be useful, and that at least one of them helps you take a meaningful step forward during the course of the next week.

Thank you for your attention. Have a great rest of your holiday season. I’ll be back in January. ?

I have been reading a lot on facebook messenger marketing ads. Not really sure how they work at the moment, but this is probably the fifth time I’ve come across is on a higher authority site. I think many marketers are starting to really understand how to use linked in as well. I’m still trying to figure all of this social media stuff out and how to market correctly on it, but at the same time I want to find my creative way of doing things like you mention. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
